cookie monster
Eli and I made oatmeal raisin cookies today. He enjoyed trying all the ingredients as we were making them. Too bad he thinks flour is the same as sugar. Until he tastes it! He loved making the cookies and especially enjoyed them after they were cooked. Except the raisins. He decided, "no likey raisins."

# 2, #2
So, Eli pooped on the potty for the second time today! Woo Hoo! He usually holds it until bedtime. What can I say, the kid is constantly constipated so do you really blame him? Anyways, I had run to Costco tonight and when I got home, low and behold, there was my little man. Playing with his bright, shiny, new tractor!!
(this is the only picture of the tractor, he loves it so much it comes in the bathtub with him)
He looked at me and said, "poo poo mommy. Poo poo prize!!" Yes, I pull out all the stops for the poop. You can have whatever you want. The stakes are high! Well, apparently, Adam had his back facing Eli while he was changing Teagen. All of a sudden, he hears Eli clapping and saying, "yeah, poo poo on potty! Poo poo prize!"Sure enough, Adam turns around and sees the little boy staring into his toilet. There inside, well...you get the point. The little man had done it all by himself. Apparently, he likes his privousy. So, I am off to get more poop prizes and a little something from Eli's pediatrician to help loosen everything up! :)
(sorry, probably too much information in the post for most. But, just recording it for my record)

Rainy days and the Swine
So, rainy days are keeping us indoors this week. Not to mention the little swine outbreak happening. I am really not paranoid for Eli, just cautious. However, with little Ms. T. I am ubber careful. Thus, our outings are limited. Who knows. Just trying to be safe. Anyways, I decided to set up a paint shop for Eli so he could be occupied indoors while I fed Teagen. I have to get him naked when we paint because we just go directly into the tub. See, two activities for the price of one. First, painting then cleaning off with some water play in the tub. It has now officially been raining for 3 days to many as Eli is truly missing being outdoors. We just sit by the window all day and watch the rain!

(i desperatly wanted this picture to come out to frame it. However, it is super hard to get a picture holding a baby with a toddler moving their hand)
What's a mom to do??
So, those of you who know me know that I am an ubber, major, hardcore car seat fanatic. Really, I could probably be your car seat specialist. I spend hours upon hours researching the latest and greatest in car seats. Safety, installation, comfort...you name it and I know all about it! Really, we are on our third infant car seat. Really, who buys three infant car seats. I do. I will not rest until I am satisfied with the safety features and snugness of installation. So, you will be happy to know that for little Teagen we finally settled on this...
of which I truly love. However, I am too cheap to buy an extra base for it for Adams car since Eli only lasted 2 months in his infant seat. So, I started researching for a convertible car seat that could go in Adams car for those rare times he drives both of them without me. Well, for Eli, we have this car seat for Adams car (sunshine kids radian 80)
and this car seat for my car (recaro young sport)
However, the second seat is only for forward facing toddlers. So, that wasn't an option for little Ms. Teagen. So, I thought I will just order another one of the Sunshine Kids as it is birth-80(who knows who would ever stay in a car seat to 80 pounds but hey...). Perfect. No research needed. Just order. So, I go to order it. Wait. New model. Side impact protection. Are you kidding me??
So, now I am faced with a big dilema. Do I buy a new model for Eli as well since the safety features are WAY better now?
Well, I ordered the new car seat,(radian XT)
I got lucky because you can't use the side impact protection until they are forward facing. So, for now, Teagen will be rear facing in Eli's old seat and Eli will be forward facing with side impact protection in the new seat. Looks like we will be buying yet another car seat when Ms. T turns forward facing. I mean really, what else do you do? There are only a few things in life that you can truly do to protect your kids. I firmly believe this is one of them. So, remember, car seats need to be replaced anytime they are in an accident or after 5 year. Also, do not use any additional accessories on your car seat. That would include car seat protectors, harness covers, those cute little pieces that snuggle the baby in, etc... as these void the safety features of the seat.

It's never a good sign
It's never a good sign when you are looking through pictures that you took and you see this...
A foot dangling from something that your little adorable 2 year old knows that his foot SHOULD NOT be dangling from...if only I hadn't been so busy taking pictures and was actually paying attention. Lesson learned.

I'm Sorry
Today I am sorry. Sorry for not entertaining you further than our outing to the park. Sorry for not engaging you in some sort of interactive, mind stimulating play. Sorry for letting Bobby Flay, Paula Deen and the countless array of other food network stars provide your supervision. Sorry for letting my bed serve as our 'lunch table'. I am sorry today for being the mom that I always swore I wouldn't be. Tomorrow will be better. Sometimes, you just have THOSE days!!!!
Thank you for indulging me in my day of 'lax' parenting and not passing judgment on your poor, tired mom!

Outstide Fun
Take me...
out to the ballgame. On Easter we took Eli to his first Round Rock Express baseball game. We met up with his DG and PapaBob and had lunch at the Salt Lick(yummy) and then headed over to the Dell Diamond for the game.
He did not take an ounce of a nap that day so I wasn't sure how he would do. He LOVED every minute of it. He was so interested in the game
and really wanted to get down there and throw the ball himself. Adam and I have decided to go every Sunday when there is a home game. It is the perfect time for us and the perfect location. I am so excited to have started this new tradition with him as I am sure it is something he will love for a long time to come!

My little ham!
Guitar
El Bustasso
That is one of my favorite lines of my father. It cracks me up everytime I hear it...don't know why but it does! That is exactly what Eli did yesterday, he busted his ass(and his knee, lip, nose, toe and really any body part you can think of) multiple times yesterday. Poor little man. It was one of THOSE days. It seems as though if he falls in the morning the whole day is full of band aids and tears. Granted, Adam was out of town so it was bound to happen. First thing in the morning, he had a date with the wall. Bloody nose,
busted lip,
the whole nine yards. Then, he tripped and his poor toenail suffered the consequences. Lastly, we were working on laying the bricks on the patio and Mr. Knee discovered Mr. Concrete. It was not the happiest of encounters.
I always offer him a kiss and a little fish icepack and as soon as he has those two things(he doesn't even use the icepack) he tells me, "better". So cute!
Here is to hoping that today we have a right foot and a left foot as opposed to two left feet!
