baby brother???

So, Eli's second round of Big Brotherhood will arrive in December. It is so fun watching him this time around. He is really processing it and curious and wondering how this all works. A few things from his mouth...

"Is the baby out yet?"
" Can I see him yet?"
"Is he playing in there?"
"Are you done puking mommy?"

Here is our typical conversation...
"Eli, are you excited about the new baby?"
"Yes, I really want to meet him"
"You know, Eli, is might be a baby girl"
"No, mommy. I want a brother"
"Well, son, that's all up to God and what he has in store"
"I think God made a baby brother"
"We shall see and be blessed with whatever He lovingly provided us with"

So, Eli is set on having a baby brother. One, very big, reason why we will find out what we are having this time around. It was so much fun not finding out with Teagen but, it's just too hard this time around to figure out where everyone is going to be 'rooming'. You see, we have a connecting jack and jill rooms and then a seperate bedroom. So, obviously, I want the two of the same sex in the connecting rooms. So, we will find out. I don't know when, but sometime.

Either way, I am excited to watch Eli's and all of his excitement. It should be a fun ride!!

school fair

The school down the street from us had their annual fair the other day so we put the kiddos in the wagon and headed down. Eli had a blast. He rode the train and played a ton of games. I wasn't sure that there would be things that he could actually participate in but there was so much stuff! He is at such a wonderful age right now...getting into much 'bigger' kid things! :(
Ha! I swear Adam doesn't have a huge gut but this picture sure makes it seem like it! HA!

This is what spring cleaning looked like in our bedroom...a total freakin disaster but, little man had fun going through all the junk!

Great Grandma

Eli has been to visit his Great Grandma a couple of times but he has mostly gone with my parents. This time, I went with them. I can't tell you how much he loves her. He is just smitten with something about her and he talks about her all the time. Just so sweet to see.

Every trip starts off with a stop to Coopers in Llano for the best barbeque...ever.
Picking out one of many prizes for not sucking his thumb
He would love on her all day!

On a side not...and totally unrelated...Eli has officially STOPPED sucking his thumb(or 'chewing' on his fingers for that matter). This has been a constant(but many times welcomed) battle/habit with the little man. It(his thumb) was there for many a cranky-colicky infant months and many a falls and sprains. But, the time had come. So, with the recommendation from our lovely pedi...I bought this Mavala nail polish online. Now, we have tried other polishes and it didn't phase him one bit. But, one taste of this and he hasn't dared put any finger nor thumb in his mouth. He has been sleeping perfectly and it has been a wonderful transition! I think it is about a week now...way to go little man...so proud of you!!

easter

Easter in pictures...

first thing in the morning(hate it when blogger does this to the font)
checking out the bunny basket

after church...checking out the loot from our Easter egg hunt
trying out his Easter treat
made Easter eggs on Easter

Does it get any cuter?
dying the eggs
inspecting
final product
It was a relaxed and low key Easter...just how we like holidays in this house!

One of these days...

One of these days...

my house will be cleaned
dinner will be on the tablemy children will be entertained
i will have activities planned
i will fold the laundry while my kids are napping as opposed to laying on the couch
i will buy groceries before the end of the week
i will be internally motivated
i will update their blogs on a regular basis

but, until then...

i will be thankful for my sweet babes
i will be lucky that they are too young to understand the long-term ramifications of the above
i will be saved by my loving hubby who comes home early from work to save my sanity
i will close my eyes and be gracious for all the laughter that fills my house
i will breathe instead of scream
i will laugh instead of cry
i will not worry about the unfolded laundry or the dirty house or the bored kids or the empty fridge and instead i will just rejoice in what i do have

yes, one day...

And, we got a new point and shoot which further allows me more free time as I will not find it necessary to edit every.single.picture!!!
We love the summer time
who knows...some sort of blue something...

for a ride...
okay, might just edit this one just too cute not to frame
