The pool

Thanks to swimming lessons, Eli is now quite fond of the pool. He is even putting his face in the water and blowing bubbles. Between the pool, the sandbox and the swing we are occupying most of our hot summer days. In fact, it is too hot to go on the trampoline, the black top just radiates the heat!

Swinging days

Look who has decided that he likes the swing! Only the big boy ones though. He is really working hard on pumping his legs and has gotten pretty good except he is moving his legs one at a time and not together. It is too cute!

What I did not do today

Today I did not let my child pee outside in the grass. Twice. That would be gross. I would never do that. And, if I did, I would never talk about it.

Happy 4th

We started the day off with a trip to Round Rock Donuts(one of the finer things in life). We then headed over to the Round Rock parade but were thrown off track by a 10 minute temper tantrum that included laying in the grass and screaming in the trunk of my expedition...one of his finer moments if I do say so myself. These do not happen very often and the fact that he was super tired and hot didn't help the situation. Nonetheless we made it to the parade in one teary eyed piece and he had a grand time. Thanks to Aunt Shannon for coming for a visit and tagging along on our little adventure!!
And since Eli has decided that he is no longer making ANY contact with the camera, I have decided that I am just going to post any picture of him, good or bad. Then, maybe, in like 20 years he will look back at this and realize the agonizing horror of a time that he put his poor old mom through when all she was trying to do was get a good picture! :)

This is not

my child eating his lunch using his "chisel". Probably not the wisest parenting!
(and yes, it is a plastic chisel.)

Do you think I'm rubbing off on him???

It seems as though the little man doesn't like to be in front of the camera but would much rather be behind it.

Check out our new blue wall and rug...more details to come later but we are undergoing a bit of a renovation!

Sandbox fun

Thanks to Papa Bob for Eli's rockin new sandbox. I think between this and the trampoline our house might just be the hit of the neighborhood...if only we had a pool! Eli loves his sandbox and more than just building sand castles, he loves it because the 'dirt' is actually soft enough that he can use his shovel to lift it up and deposit it on the other side of the sandbox. As he told us today, "Eli is a hardworking man" and yes, son, you are a hardworking man. May this trait live on forever!
