still alive

We are still alive. Alive and well. I am officially a stay at home(albeit work at home) mom! We are adjusting. It was hard on Eli when I went back to work for my short stint. But, I am back and we are now adjusting.
I am excited about all the fun we will have. All that we will learn. I am excited about exploring. Watching thriving children. I am excited about the tears. The tantrums. I am excited about everything. This is something I never thought I would be doing(staying at home) but I am and I feel so blessed to have this opportunity.
My little man, I can't wait to learn all that you will teach me!

Those faces

Eli likes to make faces for the camera. Highly annoying at times. He was on a roll the other night while he was enjoying his ice cream. His DG and I were dying laughing. It was hilarious. Such the personality.

big boy

We never wanted to rush Eli into a big boy bed. When we had Teagen, we just bought her a new crib and kept him in his. We knew he wasn't ready and we didn't want to stir up his world anymore. I was just waiting for 'signs' that he was ready. About 2 weeks ago, he started waking up crying in the middle of the night. I thought it was nightmares. Then it got real bad...top of your lungs. Are you dying? Screaming. So one night, every time he made a peep I would run in there to see if I could figure out what was wrong. This is what I saw
So, we decided it was time. Eli and Adam went and picked out a mattress for him and some new sheets. The bed we bought is on back order till the end of the month but we decided he could just sleep on the mattresses until then! When we put it in his room and he figured out that it was his, he was so excited! He has been in it ever since. He sleeps sound as a ROCK. I am so glad that we waited until he was ready because, knock on wood, we have had no problems. In fact, he has been waking up dry about 75% of the time now whereas before he was always wet in the morning! He is growing up so much!

Daddy lovin

Eli loves his Daddy. They are pals. True pals. It is fun to watch their relationship grow into this amazing father-son bond. They are alike in so many ways. They are tedious. Meticulous. They are learners. They love to learn together. New things and old. They study them for hours. Learning how they work. Studying each little piece. Does a two year old really do this? Yes, for hours. He truly gets it from his father. (my attention span is about 2 minutes)
Anyways...they love to play together. They wrestle. Laugh. Give 'BIG' hugs. Run. Jump. Read. You name it. It is sweet. Sometimes I will be downstairs working and I hear this loud roaring laughter from Eli. I walk upstairs and I just see them laying on the bed playing. They will do this for hours.  It does a mommy's heart good to see this.

Teagen is just along for the ride...she thinks they are a bit nuts sometimes!
I better be sneaky on my picture taking or all I get is the nasty scrowl
